Karen Khachanov completes field as Bastide UTS Nîmes Quarter-Finals Unveiled

With less than 30 days until the action begins, the quarter-final draw for Bastide UTS Nîmes (April 3–4) has been revealed, promising four blockbuster matchups in the majestic Roman Arènes to launch the 2026 UTS season.

World No. 16 Karen Khachanov is the final name added to the elite “5-star” roster. A two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist and former Rolex Paris Masters champion, “The Machine” will make his UTS debut in Nîmes.

The field for the 2026 edition sets a new benchmark for the circuit; for the first time in UTS history, all eight participants are current or recent (last 12 months) members of the world’s Top 15.

The Quarter-Final Lineup (Friday, April 3)

The draw features a mix of contrasting styles and high-intensity duels between the tour’s biggest hitters:

  • Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 1) vs. Grigor Dimitrov
  • Andrey Rublev vs. Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
  • Casper Ruud vs. Karen Khachanov
  • Alexander Bublik (No. 2) vs. Ugo Humbert

These four unique pairings represent brand-new matchups for the UTS circuit, with players vying for a share of the $1 million prize pool.

Home Hopes and Title Defenses

France’s Ugo Humbert, the sole home representative, faces a daunting task against the unpredictable Alexander Bublik, who is thriving in his new status as a Top 10 player.

Meanwhile, defending champion and clay-court specialist Casper Ruud must navigate a tricky opener against the clinical consistency of Khachanov.
