The Gentle Warrior returns: Auger-Aliassime joins lineup for Bastide UTS Nimes 2026
The wait is finally over. Felix “The Gentle Warrior” Auger-Aliassime is officially back in UTS and ready to stalk his prey at Bastide UTS Nimes 2026.
The Canadian power-hitter has confirmed his participation for the upcoming event at the Arenes de Nimes on April 3-4, 2026, adding serious firepower to a line-up already packed with big names, as Andrey Rublev also confirmed his participation.
They join defending champion Casper “The Ice Man” Ruud, French favourite Ugo “The Commander” Humbert, and the chaotic genius of Alexander “The Bublik Enemy” Bublik as players confirmed for the second UTS stop of the 2026 season.
Unfinished Business
For long-time UTS fans, The Gentle Warrior needs no introduction. Auger-Aliassime was a standout performer during UTS 2 in 2020, where his athleticism and intensity took him all the way to the final. He fell just short of the title in a nail-biting sudden death against Alexander “The Lion” Zverev, leaving him with a score to settle.
“ I am super excited to play Bastide UTS Nîmes next April, said “FAA”. I was astonished by the amazing footage I saw of the 2025 edition, and I can’t wait to play UTS in the iconic clay court of the Arènes de Nîmes!”
Now, returning as a top-five player and an established force on the ATP Tour, The Gentle Warrior is more dangerous than ever. His game is tailor-made for the UTS format: a massive serve to close out quarters, aggressive court positioning, and a forehand designed to hit winners before the buzzer sounds.
Gladiators in the Arena
There is no better setting for The Gentle Warrior’s return than the Arenes de Nimes. The ancient Roman amphitheatre perfectly suits the gladiatorial spirit of UTS, where strategy cards and sudden death points turn tennis into a tactical battle of wits and nerve.
Auger-Aliassime’s aggression will provide a fascinating contrast to the rest of the field. Will The Commander’s tactical lefty game be able to contain him? Can The Ice Man freeze him out? Or will The Bublik Enemy disrupt his rhythm?
The two-day event takes place at the start of the clay season, with quarter-finals on Friday, April 3, and the Final Four on Saturday, April 4.
