His breakthrough came at the 2021 French Open, where he reached the quarter-finals, proving his ability to excel on clay. In 2022, he delivered the best run of his career at the Monte Carlo Masters, stunning world No. 1 Novak Djokovic and advancing to his first ATP Masters 1000 final.

 

Since then, Davidovich Fokina has established himself as a consistent threat on all surfaces. He has recorded multiple wins over Top-10 opponents and achieved a career-high ranking inside the Top 20 (18th).
