The Kazakh is one of the most unpredictable players on the Tour! plays with huge serves, double faults, drop shots and underarm serves, you never know exactly what you’re going to get! If he’s on his game, though, few players are harder to play, and tougher to beat, and with the unique format of UTS, his trick shots should come in handy.

Career

Like many players with a lot of shots at their disposal, Bublik took time to really find his feet on the ATP Tour. He reached his first final on grass in Newport in 2019, only to lose out to Pablo Carreno Busta in a deciding-set tiebreak. He made a second in Chengdu the same year, before making two more in 2021, in Singapore and Antalya. He finally made the big breakthrough in Montpellier in 2022, beating then world No 3 Alexander Zverev in the final, showing everyone he’s more than a trick shot. If he was more stable on court, he’d probably win more often, but he also wouldn’t be the entertainer he is.
