Best Grand Slam performance: Australian Open SF 2025; US Open SF 2023
Meet the new American kid on the block. If the name seems familiar, then perhaps that’s because Shelton is the son of former world No 55 Bryan Shelton. But the youngster has already outstripped his father and with a big lefty serve, steely attitude and the match toughness honed on the US college circuit, he looks to have the game to go much higher.
Career
After winning three straight Challenger Tour titles at the end of 2022, he broke into the world’s top 100, securing himself a flight to Melbourne for the Australian Open. Once there, he took his chance with a brilliant run to the quarter-finals. Since then, Ben has gone from strength to strength, winning his first ATP 500 title in Tokyo and reaching the semi-final of the US Open in 2023. He played the semi-final at the Australian Open in 2025 and broke into the Top 10 for the first time.
