The Norwegian is known for his powerful groundstrokes off both flanks, along with his great court coverage which makes him a tough competitor to beat, specially on clay and hard. Ruud’s strengths on court are matched by his ice-cool personality, which has earned him the nickname of “The Iceman”.

Career

Casper Ruud’s solid baseline game and fantastically calm temperament under the most intense pressure have earned him 14 ATP singles titles in his career so far. The Norwegian’s favourite surface is clay, winning 12 of his 14 titles on the red dirt and reaching back-to-back French Open finals in 2023 and 2023. The Norwegian has also become an A-list hardcourt player, reaching the US Open final in 2022, winning the San Diego title in 2021 and the Stockholm title (indoor) in 2025.
