Style and Personality
Known for his flamboyance, Fognini possesses an all-court game. This is best seen in his speed and agility around the court, as well as in his feathery touch at net. The former world No 9 doesn’t always agree with umpiring decisions, and – when he doesn’t agree – he is sure to let everyone know about his true feelings. The Italian’s on-court antics makes him one of the most exciting players to watch, with ticket holders always sure to get their money’s worth.
Career
‘Fogna’ has made the fourth round of the Australian Open on an impressive four occasions, reaching the same stage of the US Open in 2015. However, his best result at a Grand Slam was at Roland Garros in 2011. The Italian also boasts four wins over Rafael Nadal – whom he beat along the way to the 2019 Rolex Monte Carlo Masters, the biggest title of his career.
