Style and personality
Raised alongside his older brother Luís Felipe Miguel, also a professional, and pairing with him regularly in doubles on tour, Guto Miguel picked up a racquet at age four and never put it down. On court and off, the young Brazilian feeds off crowd energy above all, a feeling he says is amplified back home, where football culture has trained crowds to roar without restraint. His childhood idol was Novak Djokovic, but these days it’s compatriot João Fonseca who inspires him, especially after what Fonseca pulled off against the Serb this year. His favorite shot: the forehand. Off the court: he’ll take a family barbecue over a night out any day.
Career
Crowned boys’ singles champion at Roland Garros 2026 at age 17, beating American Michael Antonius 6-3, 6-4 in the final, Guto Miguel made history as the first Brazilian to win a Roland Garros junior title — and more broadly, the first Brazilian ever to claim a Grand Slam junior singles trophy. That breakthrough capped a fast rise on the professional tour: career-high rankings of world No. 172 in doubles (15 June 2026) and No. 824 in singles (22 June 2026), three ATP Challenger doubles titles already banked, and a 92-30 singles record on the ITF junior circuit as of May 2026. He also earned his first professional singles point at the Brasil Tennis Classic ITF M25 event in São Paulo, where he won the doubles title alongside his brother, before landing a wild card at 16 into the Costa do Sauípe Open, a new ATP Challenger 125 event in Bahia.
