After a sensational two weeks at the Miami Open, Grigor “G-Unit” Dimitrov finished as runner-up, losing to new world No 2 Jannik Sinner 6-3, 6-1.
It is his best-ever run in Miami, with three top 10 opponents defeated along the way – Hubert Hurkacz, Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz.
More than that, it sees him returning to the top 10 himself for the first time since 2018, at the world No 9 spot.
The 32-year-old – who reached the final of UTS Frankfurt in 2023 – told a press conference after the final how much he had enjoyed the tournament.
“I felt like a rockstar these last few days,” he said. “I really felt embraced, felt the love of the crowd. It’s been amazing weeks honestly.”
Dimitrov’s next tournament will be in Monte-Carlo as he heads on to the European clay.
