UTS makes its South Americain debut in Rio de Janeiro

The UTS Tour is heading to a new continent. For the first time in its history, the league will stage an event in South America, and it is doing so in fitting style: three days of elite tennis at one of Brazil’s most iconic arenas.

UTS Rio will take place on July 16, 17 and 18 at the Maracanazinho – the legendary 11,000-seat indoor arena in the heart of Rio de Janeiro.

Played on indoor hardcourt, it will be the second stage of the 2026 UTS Tour, following the Bastide UTS Nîmes on April 3 and 4.

Rio is a city that knows how to host the world’s biggest sporting events, having welcomed the Olympic Games in 2016 and the Fifa World Cup in 2014. Its fans are among the most passionate on the planet. The Maracanazinho, with its electric atmosphere and capacity for 11,000, is exactly the kind of stage that the UTS format was built for.

The eight-man player field will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned and follow UTS Tour on social media for the next updates.
