Style and personality:
As the joint-tallest player on the tour, Opelka also possesses one of the most vicious and powerful serves. He can produce a first serve that measures over 140mph, making him one of the toughest opponents to break, especially on hard and grass courts. Opelka won the 2015 Junior Wimbledon tournament, defeating Junior world No. 1 Taylor Fritz en route to beating Mikael Ymer in the final.
Career:
Opelka has served his way to four ATP Tour titles and one doubles title. He also won the Wimbledon Juniors title in 2015. He has made the second week of all four Grand Slam events, and cracked the top 20 last year before injury damaged his ranking. Make no mistake, though, Opelka is a threat to anyone on faster hard court surfaces.
UTS History
Opelka will be making his debut in UTS New York, from August 22 to 23.
