Tomas Machac and Hong Kong’s Coleman Wong join line-up for Chubb UTS Hong Kong 2025 with Humansa

Czech star Tomas Machac and Hong Kong’s very own emerging star Coleman Wong join the strong line-up of eight tennis superstars who will battle for the iconic Zeus trophy in Hong Kong, October 14th and October 15th.
Machac is one of the most promising players on the ATP Tour, currently ranked 22, and flourishes at UTS events. He captured the UTS Guadalajara title and reached the Bastide Medical UTS Nîmes final this year, adding to his achievement as a mixed doubles gold medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Coleman Wong just made history at the US Open by becoming the first male Hong Kong player to appear in a Grand Slam singles main draw. Wong went on to reach the third round, marking a career-best performance. He has been granted a wildcard into Chubb UTS Hong Kong 2025 with Humansa.
“Competing in UTS on home court marks a career-defining milestone for me” stated Coleman Wong. Having trained in Hong Kong since childhood, every step of my journey has been fueled by local fans’ incredible support. I am looking forward to the home crowd getting behind me. Their enthusiastic backing will be the ace up my sleeve against the world’s top players. I will be giving my all to showcase to the world Hong Kong’s outstanding tennis potential.”
The Hong Kong event previously announced its all-star line-up, which includes Australia’s top-ranked player and current World No. 8, 2024 UTS Grand Final London champion Alex de Minaur; along with current World No. 11 player and 2024 UTS Oslo champion Andrey Rublev; Chinese star Zhang Zhizhen; and tennis fans’ favourite, the Australian Nick Kyrgios; Czech rising star Jakub Mensik and Latin America’s top ranked Francisco Cerundolo.
They will compete for a total prize purse of $1.1million USD, with the winner taking home an estimated $306,000 USD.
Results in Hong Kong will have a big say in which players qualify for the season-ending UTS Grand Final in London, which takes place at the Copper Box Arena 5-7th December. Currently only Machac and Casper Ruud have confirmed their places, with defending champion De Minaur, Rublev and Belgian star David Goffin in strong positions to make the eight-man field.
Michael Cheng, President of the HKCTA, said : “The fact that the UTS selected the HKCTA and HK to host first Asian the first-ever Asian Ultimate Tennis Showdown Tournament speaks volumes for the growing stature of Hong Kong’s tennis development and its international recognition as a leading sports and event destination.”
“The inclusion of Coleman in the tournament represents the icing on the cake. He shows marked improvement in recent years and his career breakthroughs demonstrate Hong Kong athletes’ competitiveness on the international stage. We anticipate his home-court clashes with global stars will not only further inspire youth passion for tennis but also reinforce HKCTA’s commitment to supporting athletes’ pursuit of excellence and establishing Hong Kong as a leading regional tennis hub.”
The Chubb UTS Hong Kong 2025 with Humansa kicks-off the new ‘Hong Kong Tennis Season”, following the successful hosting of three international men’s and women’s tournaments in the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
