Kyrgios to be replaced by Benoit Paire ‘The Rebel’ for UTS event in Los Angeles
Nick Kyrgios is reportedly set to be replaced by Benoit Paire in the upcoming UTS event in Los Angeles, taking place at the end of this month.
The innovative event is set to get underway between 21st and 23rd July, with a host of star names lined up to take part.
Kyrgios – or ‘King Kyrgios’ as his UTS nickname is – has been forced to withdraw from the event because the wrist injury that kept him out of Wimbledon has still not healed.
However, Kyrgios has announced he will be attending the event, possibly in a coaching capacity.
Benoit ‘The Rebel’ Paire has been confirmed as Kyrgios’ replacement. The mercurial, and immensely talented, Frenchman is perhaps the only other player on tour that can offer the same level of unpredictability, volatility and unexpected entertainment on court as Kyrgios does.
With players and fans descending on LA this week for the weekend’s action, having both Paire and Kyrgios at the same event – even if the Australian is not playing – is sure to be an extra draw for the fans.
