“The Rocket” Eubanks and “The Machine” Kwon will face each other in the first round of the US Open
Two stars of UTS will clash in the first round of the US Open as world No 30 Christopher Eubanks plays Korea’s Soonwoo Kwon.
“The Rocket” Eubanks will feature in the field for UTS Frankfurt from September 15 to September 17, while “The Machine” Kwon leads the field in Seoul from December 1 to 3.
It is their second meeting in a Grand Slam this year, having already played each other in the first round of the Australian Open. The American won that match, 6-3, 6-7 (1), 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
Their only other previous match was in Doha in 2022, when Kwon won 7-6 (6), 1-6, 6-4.
It suggests their encounter in Flushing Meadows is also likely to be a close one!
