Andrey “Rublo” Rublev eases past “The Rocket” Eubanks in Melbourne
Andrey “Rublo” Rublev has won the battle of the UTS stars in Melbourne, beating Christopher “The Rocket” Eubanks in straight sets in the second round of the Australian Open.
Rublo won 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 against his UTS rival, looking comfortable throughout as his trademark powerful groundstrokes overwhelmed The Rocket.
Rublev, ranked No 5, will face American Sebastian Korda, the No 29 seed, next.
The Russian defeated Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild 7-5, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6 (6) in the previous round, while The Rocket beat Japanese Taro Daniel 6-4, 6-2, 6-3.
