Draw revealed for Chubb UTS Hong Kong with Humansa

Reigning UTS champion Alex de Minaur and UTS specialist Andrey Rublev know their path to an eventual third Zeus trophy in career, which would be an absolute record, as the draw is now revealed for Chubb UTS Hong Kong with Humansa (October 14-15th), third stage of the 2025 UTS Tour.

The quarterfinals of this innovative event will be the following ones:

  • De Minaur (1) vs. Zhang
  • Shang vs. Mensik
  • Cerundolo vs. Mannarino
  • Rublev (2) vs. Wong

The draw brings two new figures on the line as young rising Chinese star Juncheng Shang is replacing injured Nick Kyrgios. The Aussie had to pull out of the event thanks to a persistent knee pain, the same injury which led him to withdraw from Wimbledon and the US Open mixed doubles.

“I haven’t been able to recover from my knee injury in time, so I’ll miss Hong Kong”, Kyrgios said. “However, I will be going to support the event and see the fans. The tennis will be incredible, and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Kyrgios will arrive at the Kai Tak Arena on October 11th to take part in the events surrounding the third stage of the UTS competition this season, that will be played on hard indoor court, after Guadalajara (Mexico, hard) and Nîmes (France, clay), including several autograph sessions for the fans and meet and greet with sponsors.

Who’ll qualify for the UTS Grand Final in London?

Shang, aged 20, already a semi-finalist at the ATP event in Hong Kong in 2024 and 2025, will play UTS for the first time, a few days after the greatest win of his career, against Top 10 player Karen Khachanov at the Shanghai Masters 1000.

Shang is driven by the perspective of an unbelievable semi-final if he beats Jakub Mensik in quarters. His eventual semi  will lead him to either seed No.2 and World No.14 Andrey Rublev, winner of Frankfurt 2023 and Oslo 2024 UTS events, or another rising tennis star, who will play in front of his fans, Coleman Wong from Hong Kong, who challenged Rublev til the 5th set in their US Open encounter four months ago.

In the other part of the draw, world No.7 Alex de Minaur, winner of UTS Anvers 2020 and UTS London 2024, will meet Zhizhen Zhang from China, as UTS new figure, World No.20 Francisco Cerúndolo from Argentina, will face French lefty Adrian Mannarino.

“Manna”, a semi-finalist in Guadalajara earlier this year on the UTS Tour, is replacing Tomas Machac from Czech Republic, the current leader of the UTS Race rankings, who had to retire from the Shanghai Masters 1000 three days ago thanks to a right knee injury.

Winners of these match-ups will advance to the Final Four on October 15th. Quarterfinal losers will compete in ranking matches that could be decisive for the UTS Grand Final qualification.

Tomas Machac and Casper Ruud have already secured qualification for this event, held in London (5-7 December), with their respective wins in Guadalajara and Nîmes earlier this season. For Wong, Zhang, Shang and Cerúndolo, only lifting the trophy in Hong Kong will do, as De Minaur and Rublev only need to win a single match to qualify.

The eight players will compete for a prize pool of USD 1.1 million, with USD 305,700 reserved for the champion. Chubb UTS Hong Kong with Humansa is the first-ever appearance of the UTS Tour in Asia.
