Stefanos Tsitsipas joins the Bastide UTS Nîmes lineup and replaces the injured Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
Spain’s Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is forced to withdraw due to injury (abdominal tear) from the Bastide UTS Nîmes (April 3-4) and is replaced by Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The Greek, a former world No. 3, will make his first appearance at the Nîmes Arena. A Roland-Garros finalist and three-time winner of the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000, Tsitsipas is a formidable clay-court specialist.
Known as one of the most spectacular players of his generation, “el Greco” is no stranger to the UTS format, having reached the semi-finals of the New York edition in 2024 and taken part in the event’s very first experience in 2020 during the Covid period.
Tsitsipas will face Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals, stepping in for Davidovich Fokina, in a clash between two Monte-Carlo tournament winners.
Quarter-finals • Friday April 3 • updated draw
- Felix Auger-Aliassime (N.1) vs Grigor Dimitrov
- Andrey Rublev vs Stefanos Tsitsipas
- Casper Ruud vs Karen Khachanov
- Alexander Bublik (N.2) vs Ugo Humbert
Tsitsipas fans can still look to grab the last remaining tickets to attend the Bastide UTS Nîmes. Saturday’s session is already sold out. Tickets are still available for Friday, dedicated to the four quarter-finals – including this Rublev vs Tsitsipas showdown.
