Andrey Rublev completes the field – and the UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas draw is set

The UTS Tour confirms Andrey Rublev as the eighth and final player for UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas on 12–13 December, and reveals the quarter-final line-up for the season-ending Super Stage at the Scandinavium arena, where eight of the world’s leading players will compete for a prize money pot of US$1 million and for the title of UTS Year-End World No. 1.

THE QUARTER-FINALS

Félix Auger-Aliassime (1) v Leo Borg
Stefanos Tsitsipas v Luciano Darderi
Holger Rune v Alexander Bublik
Brandon Nakashima (2) v Andrey Rublev

The two seeds go to the stage winners of the 2026 season: Auger-Aliassime, champion of Bastide UTS Nîmes in April, and Nakashima, champion of UTS Rio presented by XP in July. They are the two men best placed to take the year-end crown, and they cannot meet before the final.

The field now features four players with Top 5 pedigree (Rune, Tsitsipas, Auger-Aliassime, Rublev), a Top 10 player this season in Bublik, two rising Top 20 stars in Nakashima and Darderi, and a local hope in Leo Borg.

Rublev, the last man in, is a two-time UTS champion (Frankfurt 2023, Oslo 2024) and one of the format’s most committed regulars. The World No. 22 was beaten by Auger-Aliassime in sudden death in the semi-finals at Nîmes in April. He also knows what it takes to win in Sweden: in July he beat Darderi to claim a second Båstad title, the 18th of his career.

UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas runs across two days: day one stages the quarter-finals, with four matches deciding who advances; day two builds to the climax with classification matches, the semi-finals and the final – five matches in total to crown the champion and settle the year-end standings, with up to US$511k for the ultimate winner.

Day one, 12 December, will feature a match sure to fire up the Swedish fans as Leo Borg takes on the No. 1 seed in front of his home crowd, with his father Björn Borg in the stands. The two have never met.

Rune-Bublik, a UTS classic?

Tsitsipas and Darderi bring the richest recent history of the four quarter-finals: the Greek leads 2-0, after a straight-sets win at the Shanghai Masters this October and a three-set battle at Halle in 2025. Darderi, World No. 23 and Båstad champion in 2025, arrives as the higher-ranked man and with a score to settle. The two have no history on the UTS Tour, as Darderi will play the format for the first time.

That’s another story for Rune and Bublik: the Dane knocked the Kazakh out at UTS London twice, in 2023 – in sudden death – and again in 2024. He also leads 2-1 on the ATP Tour, including a win indoors in Paris in 2024, the same conditions they will face in Gothenburg.

Nakashima and Rublev complete the line-up, and the Russian leads 3-1, with the last two wins both in the round of 16 at Masters 1000 level in 2024, in Cincinnati and in Canada. Nakashima’s one win came on the clay of Barcelona the same season. But the American arrives as a different player: World No. 17, a Masters 1000 finalist in Montreal, and a UTS champion at the first attempt in Rio.

Andrey Rublev said: “UTS is an event where you have to commit fully to prevail. I’ve been through every kind of emotion on this tour, and I know from experience how exciting the year-end event is. Being back in Sweden, where I won a trophy this year in Båstad, is a real pleasure too.”

Tickets for UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas are on sale now, priced from SEK 445 (€40), via www.uts.live.
