World N°5 Felix Auger-Aliassime and Swedish hope Leo Borg join the field of UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas

The UTS Tour confirms two more players for its season-ending UTS Gothenburg by BNP Paribas on 12–13 December: Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime, World No. 5 and champion of Bastide UTS Nîmes in April, and Swedish fans’ favourite Leo Borg.

They join Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Bublik, Brandon Nakashima, and Luciano Darderi, bringing the field to seven of the eight players who will compete at the Scandinavium arena for a prize money pot of US$1 million.

The field now features three players with Top 5 pedigree (Rune, Tsitsipas, Auger-Aliassime), a Top 10 player in Bublik, two rising Top 20 stars in Nakashima and Darderi, and a local hope for the Swedish fans to get behind. The event doubles as the UTS Tour Super Stage that decides the UTS Year-End World No. 1.

Auger-Aliassime’s arrival sets up the storyline of the season: with Nakashima, winner of UTS Rio presented by XP in July, already confirmed, the two stage winners of the 2026 campaign will go head to head on Swedish soil as the two men best placed to be crowned UTS Year-End World No. 1 at the Super Stage.

The Canadian was crowned at the Arènes de Nîmes in April in front of a sold-out crowd of 13,000, beating Grigor Dimitrov, Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud – all three in sudden death, which earned him the nickname “King of the sudden death”.

2026 has been the strongest season of his career. He reached the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros, then went the same distance at Wimbledon. He also climbed to a career-high World No. 4 and added the title in Montpellier, the eighth of his nine career titles to come indoors – which makes him a formidable proposition under the roof in Gothenburg.

Auger-Aliassime: “I want to feel it again”

Félix Auger-Aliassime said: “Winning the Zeus trophy in Nîmes was one of the most thrilling experiences of my year. Every match went down to the wire, and that kind of tension stays with you. I want to feel it again, and I won’t pretend otherwise: I’m coming to Gothenburg to chase the year-end title. After what Brandon did in Rio, I expect him to be a serious rival here, and the others too. I really look forward to coming to Sweden”.

Borg will make his UTS debut on home soil, where his two ATP Tour wins have come – against Elias Ymer in Båstad in 2023 and against Sebastian Ofner at the Stockholm Open in 2025. He brings a name that resonates like no other in Swedish tennis. The 23-year-old from Stockholm, son of 11-time Grand Slam champion and 1975 Davis Cup hero Björn Borg, who will be at Scandinavium to watch his son and to support the return of top-level tennis to one of the heartlands of the Swedish game.

Leo Borg said: “Playing in front of the Swedish fans against some of the best players in the world is a huge opportunity, and I can’t wait. The UTS rules are built to create emotion, for the players and for the crowd alike, and I’m determined to take my chance.”

Borg: “Proud that Sweden is part of it”

Björn Borg said: “From what I have seen of UTS, it brings fresh energy to the sport and is a great way to reach a new audience. I’m proud that Sweden is part of it, and I am sure Swedish tennis lovers – myself included – will enjoy the show in an arena that holds so many memories for us.”

Seven places in, the Gothenburg line-up blends star power, momentum and home support. The last name in the field will be revealed in the coming weeks.
