Melbourne ready for Struff’s Thunder
Those serves will be thundering down in Melbourne on Thursday courtesy of The Thunder, Jan-Lennard Struff.
The 33-year-old takes on Miomir Kecmanovic in the second round of the Australian Open.
And the 24th seed has a serious weapon on serve – as all fans of UTS will know.
On his UTS Tour debut in 2023, he averaged a serve speed of 160km/ph – the second fastest of all players in the competition, just behind Christopher “The Rocket” Eubanks.
And in the fast-paced UTS format, it can be tricky to be accurate on serve – but The Thunder still managed to average two aces per match.
Struff made his UTS debut in Frankfurt and was knocked out in the round-robin stage.
