The Bublik Enemy makes Montpellier final
Alexander “The Bublik Enemy” Bublik is into the final of the Open Sud de France in Montpellier – where he will face Borna Coric.
The Bublik Enemy won the day’s first semi-final, coming back from a set down to beat Felix Auger-Aliassime 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
It makes him the fourth player to make multiple finals at the tournament – along with Richard “The Virtuoso” Gasquet, Gael “La Monf” Monfils, and Alexander Zverev.
He is set to rise to a new career high when the next rankings are released – bettering his previous best mark of world No 25.
Holger “The Viking” Rune missed out on the chance to make it an all-UTS final as he lost to Coric.
Rune was 6-3, 4-1 down when he retired due to an arm injury.
The Viking is due to play in the first leg of 2024’s UTS tour, alongside The Bublik Enemy, when they both compete in UTS Oslo (9-11 February).
