Local hero Casper Ruud and Dane Holger Rune to headline UTS Tour 2024 first stage in Oslo
Scandinavia will be a land of tennis more than ever, with two of the region’s finest headlining UTS Tour 2024 first stage in Oslo, Norway. Casper “The Iceman” Ruud and Holger “The Viking” Rune are both confirmed for the event, which will take place at the Telenor Arena from February 9 to 11.
Four other players are also announced for the opening UTS event of 2024, with Andrey Rublev, Gael Monfils, Alexander Bublik, and Austria’s Dominic Thiem, all returning to the UTS Tour.
This Oslo stage will be one of the most competitive events in UTS Tour history, boasting a Grand Slam winner (2020 US Open champion Thiem), three players recently ranked in the world’s top five (Ruud, Rune, Rublev) and two of the ATP Tour’s greatest showman, both of whom also recently won titles (Monfils in Stockholm and Bublik in Antwerp).

Ruud, who has never played an elite singles event on home soil, has competed once before at UTS, in Frankfurt by Builder.ai, where he was unlucky to not make the Final Four, ending the round-robin phase on two wins and one loss.
Denmark’s Rune made his UTS debut as a 17-year-old when he replaced Matteo Berrettini, making sure everyone would remember his babyface in the future, as we all did. He’ll get more time on the court before Oslo, however, with both Rune and Ruud due to compete at the UTS Grand Final in London this December.
Fans with tickets for Friday or Saturday are guaranteed to see all players in action. Head to the uts.live website for more information, with tickets for UTS Oslo available now.
