Ruud defeats Rune in Acapulco Battle of the North, The Demon gets past Draper

Acapulco hosted two all-UTS semi-finals – with Casper “The Ice Man” Ruud triumphing over Holger “The Viking” Rune 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The two met on the opening day of UTS Oslo last month, with Ruud coming out on top 6-21, 14-13, 17-12, 13-12. The Ice Man ultimately topped Group A to make it to the Final Four, but The Viking was indisposed and unable to play any further part in the event.

Ruud will face in the final Alex “The Demon” de Minaur, who beat Jack “The Power” Draper in a walkover in the other semi-final,

The Australian was 6-3, 2-6, 4-0 up when the 2023 Grand Final champion was forced to withdraw through illness.
