Thiem, Tiafoe, Monfils first to sign up for UTS Frankfurt in October

UTS is coming back to Frankfurt!

Former US Open champion Dominic Thiem will join Frances Tiafoe and Gael Monfils as the fast-paced, innovative format returns to the German city for a second successive year.

The three stars of the men’s game will be joined soon by five others for the event, which is back in the 5,000-seat Suwag Energie Arena from October 17-20, 2024, with memories of last year’s event – when Andrey “Rublo” Rublev won the title and Monfils hit the shot of the year – still fresh in the mind.

The winner of the event will qualify automatically for the season-ending UTS Grand Final.

Dominic “Dominator” Thiem is back for his third taste of UTS, having played in the augural event in 2020 and again in early 2024, competing in UTS Oslo.

And Frances “Big Foe” Tiafoe is back for a second time, having made his UTS debut in Los Angeles last year.

UTS Frankfurt will be played out over four days, with more sessions added this year following the sellout in 2023.

The eight men will compete in two round-robin groups, with the top two in each group moving through to the semi-finals.

  • The tournament champion will qualify directly for the UTS Grand Final. The winner will win a maximum of $421,800, while the overall tournament prize money will be $1,665,000.
