The Bublik Enemy and The Mountain set for Madrid Open clash
Alexander ‘The Bublik Enemy’ Bublik and Ben ‘The Mountain’ Shelton are poised to face off in the last 32 of the Madrid Open this week.
The pair will reignite their scintillating UTS rivalry on the ATP Tour’s European clay-court stretch as they meet in an all UTS showdown in the Spanish capital.
The Bublik Enemy has the egde in their ATP head-to-head so far, with the Kazakh winning their only encounter at the Italian Open last year.
However, it is The Mountain who earned a thrilling win over his UTS rival, defeating The Bublik Enemy in an unforgettable contest at UTS Los Angeles last summer.
The big-serving American outplayed the Kazakh in front of his home fans for a pulsating 3-1 win last July.
The Mountain is on a five-match winning streak at the start of his clay-court season, having taken the title in Houston before his opening-round win against Machac in Madrid.
The Bublik Enemy, on the hand, is struggling for momentum having lost early in Monte-Carlo.
But form goes out of the window when it is a clash of UTS big names, with both Shelton and Bublik wanting to gain the edge ahead of a potential future UTS showdown.
