Shelton, Rublev, de Minaur, and other UTS stars set to light up US Open

The final Grand Slam of the season, the US Open, is set to get underway August 24 – September 7, with multiple UTS stars providing exciting storylines.
Recently-crowned Toronto champion Ben ‘The Mountain’ Shelton has been in stunning form in 2025, reaching the semi-finals at the Australian Open and the quarter-finals at Roland-Garros.
At the New York event, Shelton made his way to the last four in 2023 – losing out to eventual champion Novak Djokovic.
Alex ‘The Demon’ de Minaur lifted his first title of 2025 in July, at the Citi Open – an ATP 500 tournament. In the final, the Australian, remarkably, saved championship points against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
At the New York Grand Slam, de Minaur reached the last four in 2020 and 2024.
Andrey ‘Rublo’ Rublev has also been improving his form in the most recent tournaments, reaching the quarter-finals in both Toronto (to Taylor ‘The Hotshot’ Fritz) and Cincinnati (to Carlos Alcaraz).
The Russian has made the quarter-finals at the US Open on four occasions, representing his most successful Grand Slam.
Jakub ‘Menimal’ Mensik is currently occupying the world No 16 spot – a career-high position for the Czech.
1000 of those points came after a stunning triumph at the Miami Masters, upsetting Djokovic in the final with his powerful serve – a weapon which will be important at the US Open.
All four of these stars are among the competitors at the next UTS event, will take place October 14-15 in Hong Kong at the Kai Tak Arena, Kai Tak Sports Park. Other participants include Zhizhen Zhang and Francisco Cerundolo.
