Alex de Minaur from Australia – the man who ended Novak Djokovic’s six-year unbeaten run in Australia on the ATP Tour on Wednesday – will be part of UTS Oslo (9-11 February), the first event on the 2024 UTS Tour.

The 24-year-old will be joined in Norway by UTS regular Benoit “The Rebel” Paire from France – who completes the field of eight players for the event, to be played at the Telenor Arena, the biggest indoor soccer Stadium in Norway, which will be turned into a tennis complex for this special event.

UTS Oslo is the greatest tennis event in Norway’s history, as per local hero Casper Ruud “The Ice Man”, a three-time Grand Slam runner-up in 2022 and 2023.

De Minaur “The Demon” and Paire will clash in Group B – along with Andrey “Rublo” Rublev (2023 UTS Frankfurt champion) and Gael “La Monf” Monfils.

Meanwhile, Casper Ruud, “The Ice Man”, will be the home favourite – and he will come up against Denmark’s Holger Rune, “The Viking”, in the group stages.

Both took part in last year’s UTS Grand Final in London, but did not face each other, with Ruud knocked out in the semi-final by eventual champion Jack Draper “the Power” – who beat Rune in the final.

Group A is rounded off by Alexander “The Bublik Enemy” Bublik and Dominic “Thieminho” Thiem, who will make his first UTS appearance since 2020, when he played the event just prior to winning the US Open

The full line-up is as follows:

Group A

  • Alexander “The Bublik Enemy” Bublik
  • Dominic “Thieminho” Thiem
  • Casper “The Ice Man” Ruud
  • Holger “The Viking” Rune

Group B

  • Gael “La Monf” Monfils
  • Andrey “Rublo” Rublev
  • Benoit “The Rebel” Paire
  • Alex de Minaur

Among the match-ups fans can tick apart from the battle of the North between Rune and Ruud : the rematch of UTS Frankfurt classic’s Rublev v Monfils, when “La Monf” invented his incredible slap shot, one of the most seen viral videos on social media in 2023, and a revenge option for The Bublik Enemy against Holger Rune after his tough loss in a decisive round-robin clash in London.
